Why not get rid of the plot and let things go with the flow? Because restricting the plot and putting forth such alliances can be tedious. Especially for Bounts and Humans. Those races should have more personal allies, on friend to friend. The Shini vs Espada and Rogue vs Non Rogue should stay, but the other races should have a say on who they wish to join, since they aren't really an organized race. Hell, some don't even know of each others existence. Not every Captain is around the same strength. For instance, if Ukitake got serious, he'd obviously wtfpwn Hitsugaya. So maybe there could be a system in place?
